Designed while working under Toby Long Design in California, the Oakland Residence was the first ground-up commission in the portfolio. The exterior is a playful meeting of two wings of the home, culminating in a tall roof canopy accessing the roof deck. Large low profile steel windows, warm natural tones, and clean lines make up the exterior palette and became the staple look and feel for the California modernism the firm practiced. The interior is organized around a tall bamboo garden and open stairwell which brings light into the interior of the large footprint.
